_Somatic Experiencing
_Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a body awareness approach for dealing with the effects of trauma. This technique understands that symptoms of traumatic stress are often expressions of incomplete self-protective responses of fight, flight, or freeze.
Whether one is struggling with present day challenges (i.e. surgical procedures, car accidents, abuse, addiction, etc.) or longstanding symptoms from childhood trauma (i.e. chronic anxiety, migraines, fibromyalgia, etc.) somatic education can be a powerful ally in creating relief and expanding vitality. Results from integrating past traumas in the nervous system can not only be a resolution of symptoms but also a greater experience of safety in the world and in one's body, as well as a renewed sense of joy and empowerment.
