____While most people associate trauma with some type of violent physical event other forms such as emotional or developmental trauma can also have a significant impact on your life. The word trauma itself can feel overwhelming; we may not even consider some experiences in our life traumatic. If we begin to exchange the word trauma with words like feeling constantly stressed out, depressed, fatigued, feeling high levels of anxiety, we can then begin to see and work with our long held patterns that may no longer serve us.

__When presented with life's challenges or overwhelming events our bodies hard wired responses are to fight with all we've got, run as fast as we can, or play dead (opossum). These responses are called the Flight, Fight, Freeze responses. All three of these responses come with a high level of charge that is meant to be utilized for short periods of time, then discharged through sweating, shaking, trembling, etc. Sometimes this highly charged pattern gets trapped in our bodies. This trapped energy can leave one feeling highly anxious (or highly charged) and or disconnected from one's self. See if you can relate to the feelings listed below.
